A bit about me
G'day from Brisbane, Australia! After 33 years as a police officer, I handed in my badge and gun to focus on being a fulltime crime fiction author. I'm a member of the Queensland Writers Centre (QWC), Australian Society of Authors and Australian Crime Writers Association. My novels are inspired by first-hand experience as a patrol officer, detective, strategic policy officer, media and communications officer, operational skills/firearms instructor and police academy facilitator. I draw on these experiences to bring authenticity and realism to my writing and to immerse the reader in fast-paced, gritty and emotionally charged stories. I studied Police Leadership, Management, Criminal Justice, Government Investigations, Training & Assessment and I hold a Diploma in Public Safety (Policing). An early edition of my first novel was shortlisted in the Watpad Awards. I was selected for the QWC Printable Program and Fishbowl Residency and have honed my writing skills at various writing courses. I was the runner-up in the Hawkeye Manuscript Development Award which led to a traditional publishing contract. I've teamed up with authors Harry Colfer and Bryn Smith to create the Genre Fiction Podcast.
